DFCCIL’s stall showcasing live working model of the freight carrying capacity and advantages over the existing Indian Railway system proved to be a big hit at the 64th Annual Railway Awards function held at Ranchi on 14.07.2019. Shri Raghubar Das, Chief Minister Jharkhand, Shri Suresh C Angadi, Minister of State for Railways, Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, Chairman Railway Board, MRS, FC, GM SER & ER Shri P S Mishra and senior IR officials visited the DFCCIL stall and appreciated the rapid strides taken by the organization to complete the Eastern & Western Dedicated Freight Corridors by 2021. The exhibition highlighted the contribution of IR to the inclusive growth in the country and showcased cutting edge technology.

DFCCIL is working towards fast-tracking the construction of the Western and Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridors. The two DFCs are targeted to be completed in phases by 2021.

WDFC:

  • The first Double Stack Container Goods train was successfully run between Ateli – Phulera section (190 km) on 15.08.2018.
  • A trial run on WDFC’s 306 km Madar (Ajmer) – New Rewari – Kishangarh Balawas section was completed on 30.12.2018.
  • The Rewari – Madar section (306 km) will be completed by October 2019
  • The Madar – Palanpur (335 km) section will be completed by March 2020
  • The Rewari – Dadri (127 km) section will be completed by March 2021
  • The Palanpur – Makarpura section (308 km) will be completed by December 2021.
  • The Makarpura to JNPT (Mumbai) section (430 km) will be completed by 2021.

EDFC:

  • A freight train trial run was done on the Bhadan- Khurja section (194 km) on 30.11.2018.
  • The Khurja- Bhaupur section (351 km) will be completed by November 2019.
  • Bhaupur- Mughalsarai section (402 km) will be completed by December 2020.
  • The Mughalsarai- Sonnagar section (126 km) will be completed by December 2020.
  • The Mughalsarai- Sonnagar section (126 km) will be completed by December 2020.
  • The Khurja Dadri section (46 km) will be completed by December 2020.
  • The Khurja – Ludhiana section (401 km) will be completed by December 2020
  • Entire EDFC (excluding PPP) will be completed by December 2021
  • Entire WDFC will be completed by 2021.
