Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Ashwini Kumar Choubey said that children are the future of today, not of tomorrow. Children can play an important role in environmental protection. They have to be sensitized towards environmental protection from the outset. So that along with aging brings sensitivity towards the environment.

Union Minister of State, Shri Choubey was addressing the school children of different states of the country through virtual medium at the program organized by Routes to Roots organization on International Day of Clean Air for Blue Sky Day. During the interaction with the children, he inspired the children to become the brand ambassadors of environmental protection from home to school. So that young people can also learn from the children.

Children should motivate their mother, father, neighbourhood and also everyone in school for planting trees and taking special care on cleanliness. Union Minister of State Shri Choubey said that concerted efforts will have to be made to make our children socially sensitive from the school level itself. It needs to be made more comprehensive and creative, so that children should be sensitive towards their social duty from the outset. He congratulated Rakesh Gupta, Tina Vachani and Rohit Kumar, founders of Routes to Roots VIRSA organization for organizing the program. Slogan of “Swatchh Pawan Neel Gagan” was given. The children also asked questions to the Union Minister of State Shri Choubey about the steps taken by the government for environmental protection. On this occasion, he administered following oath to the children:

“My Earth My Pride”.

19000 children from Delhi, Guwahati, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, and other states of North East, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Daman and Diu, Madhya Pradesh joined and children from Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Russia also joined the program through virtual medium.
