The Centre has provisionally allocated IAS and IPS officers to newly-formed state of Telangana and residuary Andhra Pradesh and allowed them with a limited-time option of swapping their cadres.
A total of 166 IAS and 119 IPS officers have been allocated Andhra Pradesh cadre. Whereas, 128 IAS and 92 IPS officers have been given Telangana cadre, said an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
