The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and its field formations are actively participating in the Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters 3.0. This campaign focuses on the disposal of seized commodities like narcotic substances and cigarettes, with significant progress being made in this regard. As of October 20, 2023, the following outcomes have been achieved:

  1. Disposal of 365 kg of narcotic substances valued at Rs 1,000 crore.
  2. Disposal of 1.35 crore cigarette sticks valued at Rs 13 crore.

In addition to these specific achievements, various other aspects of pending matters have been addressed:

  1. Disposal of 785 public grievances.
  2. Disposal of 280 public grievance appeals.
  3. Handling of 14 MP references.
  4. Review of 20,871 physical files, with the removal of 8,308 files.
  5. Review of 11,718 e-files, with the closure of 711 files.
  6. Organizing 1,195 cleanliness campaign events in office premises and public places.
  7. Disposal of 9,304 kilograms of scrap, leading to the freeing up of 46,565 square feet of additional office space.

The CBIC and its field offices have also actively used social media to promote awareness and the message of cleanliness (Swachhata). The goal is to meet all the targets set under the Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters 3.0, reflecting the commitment of these organizations to efficient governance and public service.
