Indian Bureaucracy, Patna, June 23, 2025 | In an ongoing routine administrative reshuffle in the state of Bihar, the Nitish Kumar Government today issued transfer and posting orders for seven (07) IPS officers across prominent departments and districts. The orders affect both senior and mid-level ranks, including three (03) Inspectors General and four (04) Superintendents of Police. The reshuffle spans critical divisions such as Technical Services & Communications, Special Branch, Vigilance Investigation Bureau, and, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), impacting postings in Patna, Siwan, and Rajgir. Senior officers including Rakesh Rathi, Garima Malik, and S Premalatha have been reassigned to lead High-priority divisions like Special Branch, Vigilance and Technical Services. List of the officers with their immediate and new postings is listed below.

  1. Shri Rakesh Rathi IPS (Bihar 2002), presently Inspector General (IG), Technical Services & Communications, Bihar, Patna with additional charge of IG, Special Branch, is appointed as IG – Special Branch, Bihar Police, Patna.
  2. Shri Jitendra Rana IPS (Bihar 2005), presently awaiting posting is appointed as IG – Central Zone, Bihar Police Headquarters, Patna.
  3. Smt Garima Malik IPS (Bihar 2006), presently IG, Central Zone, Patna, is transferred and appointed as IG – Vigilance Investigation Bureau, Bihar Police, Patna.
  4. Smt S Premalatha IPS (Bihar 2006), presently IG, Vigilance Investigation Bureau, Bihar, Patna, is transferred and appointed as IG – Technical Services & Communications, Bihar Police, Patna.
  5. Shri Manoj Kumar Tiwari IPS (Bihar 2012), presently Superintendent of Police (SP), Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Patna, is transferred and appointed as SP – Siwan, Bihar Police.
  6. Shri Amitesh Kumar IPS (Bihar 2016), presently SP, Siwan, is transferred and appointed as SP – Security, Special Branch, Bihar Police, Patna.
  7. Shri K Ramdas IPS (Bihar 2019), presently SP-cum-Assistant Director, Bihar Police Academy, Rajgir, is transferred and appointed as SP – Crime, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Bihar Police, Patna.
