Indian Bureaucracy News, Chandigarh, July 01, 2026 | The Centre has approved a further six-month extension in service for Anurag Rastogi, a 1990-batch IAS officer serving as Haryana’s Chief Secretary, following a recommendation from the state government.
Shri Rastogi, originally superannuated in June 2025, had earlier been granted a one-year extension, which was due to conclude on June 30, 2026. With the latest approval, he will continue in office from July 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026.
The extension was cleared by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) under provisions relaxing Rule 16(1) of the AIS (DCRB) Rules, 1958. The order was received by the Haryana government on Tuesday evening.
