Shri Anurag Dhankar IPS (Tripura 1994), presently DGP, Intelligence, Tripura Police, is appointed as new Director General of Police (DGP) – Tripura Police.
Shri Dhankar succeeds Shri Amitabh Ranjan (IPS), who retires this month. The appointment, approved by the Governor in consultation with the Union Public Service Commission, was announced by the General Administration (Personnel and Training) Department. Shri Dhankar, currently DGP (Intelligence), brings over 16 years of experience in Tripura, including roles as SDPO Longtharai Valley, SP of West and South Tripura, SP (Special Branch), and AIG (Headquarters). His diverse career also includes international service with the UN Mission in Kosovo and central deputations to the CBI and CISF. Academically, he holds postgraduate degrees in Food Technology, Police Management, and Cyber Crimes, and is a certified fraud examiner.
