Shri Anshul Mishra IAS (Tamil Nadu 2004) appointed as Additional Director (Administration) – AIIMS, Delhi, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare for a tenure of five years vice Shri Karan Singh IRTS (1999).

Shri Anshul Mishra brings a rare blend of academic distinction and practical governance experience to his roles in public administration. He holds a Master’s in Regional Planning from the prestigious Cornell University, USA (2019–2021), where he specialized in City and Regional Planning, gaining global insights into sustainable urban development and infrastructure strategies.

He also holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), one of India’s top institutions for political studies, where he developed a strong foundation in political science and global governance. Further deepening his academic credentials, Shri Mishra pursued an M.Phil. in American and West European Studies from JNU, reflecting a deep analytical grasp of international political systems and transatlantic relations.

In this senior capacity equivalent to Joint Secretary, he will play a pivotal role in overseeing administrative operations at one of India’s foremost healthcare institutions.

His earlier assignments reflect a rich and diverse career. He was Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board and served as Member Secretary of the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority—both critical roles in advancing urban infrastructure and housing. At the central level, he contributed significantly as Director (Winding Up) in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, and as Private Secretary to Ministers of State in both the Ministries of Civil Aviation and Finance.

Shri Mishra has also held several key field-level positions in Tamil Nadu, including District Collector of Madurai and Thiruvannamalai, Joint Commissioner (Commercial Taxes), Commissioner of Coimbatore Municipal Corporation, and Assistant Collector in Gobichettipalayam. His administrative journey began as Project Officer in Rural Development and continued through dedicated grassroots service.
