Aditya Vikram Yadav IAS posted as District Commissioner, Lakhimpur
Shri Aditya Vikram Yadav IAS (Assam Meghalaya 2018), presently Additional Secretary – Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Dispur and State Project Director, Assam Inland Water Transport Development Society as additional charge, has been transferred and posted as District Commissioner, Lakhimpur, Assam.
The District Commissioner (DC) of Lakhimpur serves as the administrative head of the district and is responsible for implementing government policies and ensuring effective governance at the grassroots level. The DC supervises revenue administration, law and order, and coordination among various government departments functioning in the district.
Located in northern Assam, Lakhimpur district plays an important role in the state’s agricultural economy and regional development. The District Commissioner oversees development initiatives related to agriculture, rural development, infrastructure, and public welfare schemes while ensuring efficient delivery of government services.
Apart from administrative duties, the DC also plays a critical role in disaster management, especially in flood-prone areas of the Brahmaputra valley. Coordination with departments such as health, education, irrigation, and rural development remains central to the role in ensuring balanced socio-economic development of the district.
