Shri Abhishek Singh IAS (Nagaland 1995) presently Additional Secretary- Ministry of
Electronics & Information Technology given extension in the central deputation tenure beyond 03.12.2024 for a period up to 20.06.2026.
An alumnus of IIT Kanpur, he holds both B.Tech and M.Tech degrees in Mechanical Engineering, graduating with First Class honors. He further honed his academic profile with a postgraduate degree in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School, also with First Class distinction—underscoring his unwavering commitment to excellence both in scholarship and service.
Throughout his distinguished career, Shri Singh has held a series of pivotal assignments across the Centre and the States. As Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), and in his earlier roles as CEO of MyGov and the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), he spearheaded several high-impact initiatives aimed at deepening citizen participation and driving digital transformation. His leadership as Executive Director (IT) in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and earlier as Director in the Ministry of IT significantly contributed to the foundation of India’s e-governance ecosystem.
At the grassroots level, Shri Singh’s administrative acumen was evident in his tenure as District Magistrate in Hardoi, Bulandshahr, and Badaun during his inter-cadre deputation in Uttar Pradesh, where he dealt with complex governance challenges with skill and resolve.
Widely respected for his innovation-driven approach to public service, Shri Abhishek Singh continues to be a torchbearer of digital inclusion. His appointment stands as a recognition of his enduring efforts to build a transparent, tech-enabled, and citizen-centric governance framework for India.
