Rapid and extensive growth of infrastructure in different sectors particularly growth of tall manmade structures around the Airports coupled with the tremendous growth in the aviation pose a significant challenge to keep the aerodrome safe for aircraft operations. In order to spread awareness regarding rules and regulations, guidelines, implementation mechanism among all the stakeholders, Airports Authority of India has undertaken a massive program.  All the stakeholders namely the Airport operators, NOC issuing authorities, Central and State government agencies have important functions in this regard including enforcement.

A two-day workshop on “NOC for Height Clearance with Focus on Control and Monitoring of Obstacles in the Vicinity of Airports” was organized by Airports Authority of India`s ATM Directorate, Airports Safeguarding section at Nagpur Airport on 27th and 28th June 2018

The workshop worked as a capacity building exercise which will put in place a robust Airport safeguarding mechanism throughout India. The workshop at Nagpur was the sixth in line among about a dozen planned at various places in India.

Representatives of 13 different Airports /offices participated in the workshop and deliberated the issues in detail. The Aerodrome Safeguarding experts from Corporate Headquarters of AAI, New Delhi conducted the workshop successfully.

The participation by the JV Airports such as MIAL-Mumbai, NMIAL-Navi Mumbai and MIL-Nagpur along with Airport Directors of AAI Airports made the workshop more productive. also participated in the workshop. The workshop was inaugurated by the General Manager (ATM), Nagpur Airport. General Manger (ATM-NOC), AAI CHQ graced the second day session including the concluding ceremony.
