Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla IAS, Secretary (Power), Government of India recently visited the 800 MW Parbati-II HE Project and 520 MW Parbati-III Power Station of NHPC at Himachal Pradesh. Sh. Balraj Joshi, Chairman and Managing Director, NHPC along with other officers of the project conducted the visit. During his visit to Parbati-II Project, Shri Bhalla inspected the Head Race Tunnel (HRT) being excavated by Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) and praised the efforts of the officers and employees of the project. Later, Sh. Bhalla also inspected the power house of 520 MW Parbati Power Station-III of NHPC.
During his tour, Sh. Bhalla also reviewed the ongoing activities at the dam site of Parbati-II H.E. Project at Barshaini. Sh. Balraj Joshi, CMD, NHPC apprised Secretary (Power) of various issues and difficulties related to the construction of the project. Secretary (Power) informed that the Government of India has a very positive outlook towards the project and assured all possible support by the Government of India for the expeditious completion of this project. CMD, NHPC assured Secretary (Power) that all out efforts are being made for ensuring quick completion of the project. Secretary (Power) expressed his appreciation to all senior officials and employees of NHPC and commended the work being executed by them.
