Indian Bureaucracy, Chandigarh, April 07, 2025 | Amidst ongoing concerns and efforts to combat drug trafficking in the state, the Punjab government, on April 6, 2025, issued a late-night order transferring ninety-seven (97) police personnel, including eleven (11) IPS officers. The following list details the officers now transferred and primarily based out of Bhatinda, Barnala and Chandigarh.
Bhatinda
- Shri Jatinder Singh (TP 98), presently AIG, ANTF, Patiala, is appointed as Commandant, 5th CDO Battalion, Bathinda, with additional charge as AIG – ANTF, Bathinda Range.
- Shri Jagdish Kumar (1351 PAP), presently SP – Hqrs., Amritsar Rural, is appointed as SP – Hqrs., Bathinda, Punjab relieving Shri Gurmit Singh.
- Shri Jasmeet Singh Sahiwal (DR), presently SP – PBI, Faridkot, and, in addition, SP, Investigation, Faridkot, is appointed as SP – Investigation, Bathinda, Punjab.
Barnala
- Shri Ashok Kumar (315 PR), presently awaiting posting, is appointed as SP – Investigation, Barnala, Punjab relieving Shri Sundeep Singh (DR).
