- Chandigarh: The Administrator, UT, Chandigarh thanked the doctors, health workers, municipal, police and administrative officials for working hard in fighting corona, resulting in reduction of active cases. He, however, stressed that the district authorities should keep a watch on persons coming from other states, so that infection is detected at the earliest and can be contained. The Administrator directed Principal Secretary Health to keep all hospitals and health centres in readiness for accommodating patients, in case there is a second surge, as the borders are open.
- Haryana: Haryana Government has deputed senior officers to visit the districts for a minimum of two days and two consecutive nights to supervise and review the current arrangements and to plan out the future arrangements required to be put in place based on the analysis of the rate of spread of COVID-19 in the State. The concerned officers will ensure that all officials of Police, ULB, Health and Medical Education and Research Departments in the district are galvanized into action and are motivated to carry on the fight against COVID-19.
- Maharashtra: With addition of 2,259 new cases, Maharashtra’s COVID-19 tally has surged to 90,787. According to the state health department, the state has reported 120 deaths with the toll now standing at 3289. The number of patients who have recovered stands at 42,638 with 1663 discharges in the last 24 hours. Mumbai, on the other hand, recorded 1,015 new cases with the total rising to 50,878. The city recorded 58 deaths more leading to a toll of 1,758.The number of reported cases in Mumbai has now crossed that of Wuhan in China, where the Corona Virus outbreak began. Silver lining is that the doubling rate in Mumbai has increased to 23 days and in Asia’s largest slum, the doubling rate has increased to 48 days. Moreover, no deaths have been reported from Dharavi during the last seven days.
- Gujarat: 470 new COVID-19 cases have been reported, taking the state tally of coronavirus positive cases to 21044, out of which 5336 are active cases. Hotspot Ahmedabad has reported 331 of these new cases. The death toll in the state rose to 1, 313, with 33 COVID-19 patients dying on Tuesday. On the other hand, 409 patients were discharged from hospitals, raising the number of recovered patients to 14,373. Also, in Ahmedabad, renowned critical care specialist Dr Raj Rawal has formed a group of expert doctors and started Covid home care service for patients with mild symptoms. Under the home care service, the patients are provided with assistant nurse, oxygen, and monitoring in cases if it is required.
- Rajasthan: 123 new COVID-19 cases have been reported till today morning, while 369 new cases in all were reported on Tuesday, taking the state tally of coronavirus positive cases to 11,368. Till date, 8502 patients have recovered in the state which has the highest recovery rate in the country. The Rajasthan Government has sealed all its inter-state borders today in the wake of continuous increase in Corona cases. In addition, the government has decided to regulate and control intra-state traffic.
- Madhya Pradesh: 211 new COVID-19 cases have been reported, taking the state tally of coronavirus positive cases to 9849. While the number of active cases is 2700, a total of 6,729 people have recovered from the infection and 420 patients have died so far. The growth rate of Corona infection in MP is now much lower at 2.74 per cent, as against the national average of 5.4 per cent.
- Chhattisgarh: 43 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in all on Tuesday, taking the state tally of coronavirus positive cases to 1251, while the number of active cases is 859.
- Goa: 29 new COVID-19 cases have been reported on Tuesday, taking the state tally of coronavirus positive cases to 359, out of which 292 are active cases and 67 patients have recovered in the state so far. Mangor area in the state continues to have the maximum cases, with 22 of these new cases being linked to that area.
- Arunachal Pradesh: State Health Secretary says more than 11,500 stranded people have returned to the state so far. He said more stranded people are reaching the state and SoPs are being followed for their checkups and quarantine.
- Assam: 42 new COVID19 positive cases in Assam. Total cases 3092, active cases 1987, recovered 1097 and deaths 5.
- Manipur: Five more persons tested COVID19 positive taking the overall total to 309, all returnees.19,854 tests have been done so far in the State.
- Mizoram: In partial modification of Lockdown Guidelines issued, Lengpui Airport in Mizoram will continue to remain operational until further orders.
- Nagaland: Nagaland Civil Society Orgaizations have planned a ‘prayer from homes’ at 7 pm today. People have been urged to light candles or flash mobile phone lights and pray for safety of all including frontline workers. 4732 samples tested so far in Nagaland. Results of 3518 have been received and 5922 persons are currently under quarantine.
- Kerala: A Covid-19 patient who escaped from the Trivandrum Medical College the other day, committed suicide inside isolation ward today after he was taken back to the hospital. His second test had shown negative. 40 of his friends and close family members have been put in quarantine. The state Cabinet has decided to strengthen containment measures to avoid community spread of Covid-19. The Chief priest of Sabarimala hill shrine has written to Devaswom Board not to allow devotees in the temple during the monthly Pooja to begin from next Monday and has also asked for postponing the festival. Four Keralites succumbed to the virus in the Gulf region. A total of 207 Malayalis have succumbed to the virus in the Gulf. Two died in Mumbai and one in Delhi. 91 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in Kerala in the second consecutive day yesterday. Number of People in quarantine in the state has crossed 2 lakh.
- Tamil Nadu: State govt acknowledges that it might be underreporting Covid-19 deaths; a nine-member committee to audit all the Covid-19 deaths in Chennai. Retired teacher found positive for Covid-19 after dying in Puducherry, cases in the UT rise to 145. Following TN, the Puducherry administration on Tuesday cancelled the Standard X public examination in the Puducherry and Karaikal regions. DMK MLA J Anbazhagan succumbs to Covid-19 at a private hospital in Chennai. 1685 new cases, 798 recoveries & 21 deaths reported yesterday. 1242 cases from Chennai. Total cases: 34914, Active cases: 16279, Deaths: 307. Active cases in Chennai are 12570.
- Karnataka: Health department announced that, state is continuing to do Covid test among deaths with history of ILI or SARI symptoms- swab to be taken within 6 hours of death for testing. Medical Education Minister Dr Sudhakar K said that the State crossed 4 lakh tests mark on Tuesday. With 2605 discharges & 5921 cumulative cases, Karnataka’s recovery rate remains at 44%. Health Minister B Sriramulu said that Maharashtra returnees will not be subjected to institutional quarantine henceforth and will be directly sent to 14 days of home quarantine. 161 new cases, 164 discharges & two deaths reported yesterday. Total positive cases: 5921, Active cases: 3248, Deaths: 66.
- Andhra Pradesh: Supreme Court denies staying AP High Court’s verdict in State EC N Ramesh Kumar’s reinstatement case, over AP government’s petition. Tenth Std examinations will be held according to previously announced schedule in Andhra, says Minister Adimulapu Suresh. CM launches ‘JaganannaChedhodu’ scheme to provide an annual cash incentive of Rs 10,000 each to 2,47,040 beneficiaries who are washermen, barbers and tailors in the state. TTD all set to resume darshan at Tirumala for devotees from Thursday. 136 new cases, 72 discharged and one death reported during last 24 hours after testing 15,384 samples. Total cases: 4126. Active: 1573, Recovered: 2475, Deaths: 78.
- Telangana: Protests erupt across Telangana as doctors stand in solidarity with those protesting at Gandhi Hospital after the attack on a doctor yesterday. Telangana government issues orders declaring promotion of all 10th students based on performance in internal assessments. Close to 7 lakh students have been promoted following the orders. As on date 448 migrants, foreign returnees tested positive.
