As many as 25 point 05 lakh people in Haryana have been enrolled under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) scheme from May, 2015 to April, 2017.Under the scheme, accidental insurance cover is provided to all residents of Haryana in the age group of 18 to 70 years.
Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister Kavita Jain, who was here for redressing the grievances of people, yesterday said that under this scheme, the risk coverage available is Rs two lakh for accidental death and permanent total disability, and Rs one lakh for permanent partial disability.
She said that the scheme was being offered through banks and administered through public sector general insurance companies and other general insurance companies. All residents of Haryana having Aadhaar-seeded saving bank accounts, in the age group of 18 to 70 years, are entitled to join the scheme.
