In Tripura, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarman has said that under Pradhanmantri Aawas Yojana (PMAY) Rural, a total 24,989 houses were sanctioned for 2016-17 and 2017-18. Talking to media in Agartala, Mr Debbarman said that the registration and geo-tagging have been completed for 24,544 houses. He also said that total 1191 houses have been constructed till date.
He further added that various irregularities on beneficiary selection have been found during 2016-17 and 2017-18 and thus, the new government will prepare a draft fresh list with transparency through special ‘Gram Sabha’.
Mr Debbarman said, after disposal of claim and objection on draft list, it will be examined by Block Development Officers (BDO) and then final approval will be given by an appellate authority.
He also said that the final list will be uploaded through Management Information System of Union Rural Development Ministry.
