Vivek Kumar Dewangan CMD REC, felicitates IBA Women’s World Boxing champions

REC’s CMD Shri Vivek Kumar Dewangan felicitates the outstanding performers of the 13 th Women’s World Boxing Championship organized by The International Boxing Association 2023 in New Delhi.

Shri Vivek Kumar Dewangan was among the dignitaries who presented awards to the winners and boosted their confidence by congratulating the players on their remarkable success. By grabbing gold medals in various event categories, India’s Nitu Ghanghas, Nikhat Zareen, Lovelina Borgohain, and Sweety Boora have established the country’s remarkable feat in the World Boxing Championship.

Recently, as a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), REC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) contributing ₹100 crores to the National Sports Development Fund (NSDF), Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports for a project on Broad Basing of Sports and Promotion of Excellence in Sports in India. The fund has been utilized in assisting sportspersons to excel in their respective fields by providing them with opportunities to train under coaches of international repute with technical, scientific, and psychological support and exposing their talents during international competitions.

REC is a major stakeholder in the Boxing Federation of India’s vision of transforming India into a boxing powerhouse globally. This partnership provides support in conducting international camps for national boxers across all age categories and contributed to grassroots development by empowering state-level training academies and coaches.
