Shri Vishram Kumar Meena IAS (Haryana 2017), presently Deputy Commissioner, Nuh and CEO, Mewat Development Agency, Nuh, is transferred and appointed as Deputy Commissioner – Kurukshetra, Haryana.
Shri Vishram Kumar Meena, a dedicated officer of the Indian Administrative Service, has been appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner of Kurukshetra, Haryana. Prior to this assignment, he was serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Nuh and Chief Executive Officer of the Mewat Development Agency, where he earned recognition for his committed approach to governance and development in one of the most challenging districts of the state. His transfer to Kurukshetra reflects the government’s confidence in his administrative abilities and leadership qualities.
An Economics graduate from the University of Delhi, Shri Vishram Kumar Meena has consistently demonstrated a keen understanding of socio-economic issues and a strong aptitude for public policy. His academic foundation has supported him in addressing diverse developmental challenges and in implementing innovative solutions for better governance at the grassroots level.
Since joining the IAS, he has undertaken important assignments that have shaped his administrative experience. Early in his career, he served as Assistant Commissioner (Junior Scale), focusing on Land Revenue Management and District Administration, which helped him build expertise in revenue administration and public service delivery. He also had a stint at the Centre as an Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Coal, where he gained exposure to energy and resource management, further broadening his perspective on governance at the national level.
His tenure as Deputy Commissioner, Nuh, was particularly noteworthy as the district posed unique developmental challenges. Nuh, being part of the Mewat region, requires sensitive and focused governance due to its socio-economic indicators. Shri Meena, as both DC and CEO of the Mewat Development Agency, worked towards improving public services, strengthening infrastructure, and fostering inclusive growth in the district.
