Dr. Vaidya Rajeshwari Singh RO(Ay), Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) has been given extension in international assignment as Consultant in Digital Health and Innovation (DHI), World Health Organization (WHO), for a further period of one year from 01.07.2025 to 30.06.2026 on the proposal of Ministry of AYUSH.

Dr. Rajeshwari Singh is a distinguished professional in the field of Ayurveda, holding an M.D. in Ayurveda Pharmacology from the esteemed National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur. With a strong academic foundation and deep-rooted commitment to the traditional systems of medicine, Dr. Singh is currently serving as Research Officer and Officer on Special Duty (Technical) in the Office of the Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Government of India.

Her expertise is reflected in her extensive involvement in shaping national-level health and wellness strategies. Dr. Singh has been instrumental in drafting and contributing to key policy briefs and technical documents within the Ministry of Ayush. Her work spans across various sectors, including International Cooperation (IC Section), World Health Organization (WHO), Forum of Indian Traditional Medicine (FITM), Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), and NITI Aayog—demonstrating her wide-ranging influence in the regulatory and strategic framework of Ayush systems.

A committed contributor to India’s health governance, Dr. Singh is a Member of the Pharmacopoeia Committee (PC) under the Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy (PCIM&H), and she plays a pivotal role as Member Secretary of Ayurveda Aahaar under FSSAI’s Ayurveda Aahara regulations. Her appointment as Member Secretary for Integrative Health Policy at NITI Aayog underscores her vital role in fostering a cohesive health strategy that bridges traditional and modern practices.

Dr. Singh represents the Ministry at both bilateral and multilateral platforms, actively engaging in international dialogue on traditional medicine. She serves as the nodal officer for WHO-GCTM (Global Centre for Traditional Medicine) and the Government’s representative to the World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO). She also acts as the focal point for the G-20 Forum from the Ministry of Ayush.

Her significant role during the COVID-19 pandemic, as part of the Interdisciplinary R&D Task Force of the Ministry of Ayush, led to the implementation of vital research and development studies. She was also a key contributor to the publication of “Mitigation and Management of COVID-19 – Compendium of Ayush-Based Practices” by NITI Aayog.

With several peer-reviewed articles and authored works to her credit, Dr. Rajeshwari Singh continues to make meaningful contributions to the evolution and recognition of India’s traditional systems of medicine, both nationally and globally.
