Minster of State for Shipping, Shri Pon Radhakrishnan has informed that the government has approved setting up a satellite port project at Vadhavan near Dahanu in Maharashtra. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) and Maharashtra Maritime Board on 5th June, 2015 for setting up the project. A Techno-Economic Feasibility Report has also been prepared by M/s McKinsey & Co. in this regard.
