Shri V S Yadav IPS (Tripura 1987) presently Principal Secretary – OBC Welfare Department, Tripura has been transferred and posted Director General of Police (HoPF)- Government of Tripura .
Shri V S Yadav joined the Indian Police Service in 1987 and was allotted Manipur-Tripura Cadre. He has done his PG in M.Sc. (Zoology).
During his distinguished career, he has been posted in diverse capacities as Sub-Divisional Police Officer, in Kanchanpur, Kamalpur, Belonia, Tripura, Addl. SP- West District, Tripura, SP- North, Tripura, SP- Mobile Task Force, Agartala and SP- Enforcement Branch, Agartala. He also held the charge of security of CM & Sect Security, Raj Bhawan Security and also as Chairman- Special Narcotics Cell, Tripura. He was on central deputation in CBI, New Delhi from 1994 to 2001 and remained posted in Special Investigation Cell and Anti-Corruption Cell in Delhi. He held charge of DIG- Home Guards and DIG- Operations, Tripura State Rifles. He was posted as Dy Director, National Crime Records Bureau during his 2nd Central Deputation from September 2003 to August 2007.
He has been awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious services on the occasion of Republic Day 2004.
