Shri Sudeep Shrivastava IRSSE (2001 ) has been appointed as Joint Secretary- Ministry
of Electronics & Information Technology for a tenure of five years vice Shri Amod Kumar IAS (Uttar Pradesh 1995) by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet at Joint Secretary Level (Level 14).
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is a key arm of the Government of India, responsible for formulating policies, promoting digital empowerment, and fostering innovation in the electronics and IT sectors. Headquartered in New Delhi, the ministry spearheads major national initiatives such as Digital India, Startup India (Tech Domain), and Make in India (Electronics Manufacturing).
MeitY oversees crucial organizations including the National Informatics Centre (NIC), CERT-In, and Digital India Corporation, ensuring cyber security, e-governance, and digital inclusion across the nation. A vital component of the Indian Bureaucracy, MeitY plays a transformative role in enabling India’s transition to a knowledge-based, technology-driven economy.
By promoting indigenous technology development, supporting startups, and expanding digital infrastructure to rural and urban India alike, the ministry continues to strengthen India’s position as a global IT powerhouse — a testament to visionary leadership and dynamic governance within the Indian Bureaucracy.
