The Joint Secretary – Department of Housing & Urban Affairs, Assam is a senior and influential position within the Assam Secretariat, playing a critical role in shaping and executing the state’s urban development and housing agenda. Administrative supervision is another core responsibility, with the Joint Secretary overseeing multiple sections within the department, monitoring file movement, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations, and responding to legislative queries, audit observations, and court matters.
