Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Kiren Rijiju has informed that The Government has indentified following areas for use of space technology in improving Border Management:- Island development, Border Security, Communication and Navigation, GIS & Operations Planning System and Border Infrastructure Development.
To execute the project, a short, medium and long term plan has been approved for implementation in five years in coordination with Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Ministry of Defence.
Number of incidents of intrusion recorded in last four years are as under:-
