SJVN pays Rs. 293.33 crore Dividend to Govt of India

On account of its annual financial performance for the year 2015-16 Public Sector SJVN Limited has paid a dividend of Rs. 293.33 crore to the Govt. of India holding 64.5% equity in the Company.  SJVN had declared a total dividend of Rs. 455.03 crore for FY 2015-16 which is the highest paid so far. An Amount of Rs. 168 Crore has already been paid to Govt. of India as interim dividend and the cheque of remaining amount of Rs. 125.33 Crore as final dividend is now released. Last year SJVN paid a total dividend of Rs. 434.35 crore.

The dividend cheque was handed over to the Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Power Shri Piyush Goel by Shri R.N Misra CMD, SJVN Limited at New Delhi.  The cheque was presented in the presence of, Shri P.K. Pujari  Secretary (Power) and senior officials of the Ministry of Power. On this occasion Shri A.S. Bindra, Director (Finance), Sh. N.L. Sharma Director (Personnel), Sh. Kanwar Singh Director (Civil) and senior officers of SJVN were also present.

While handing over the cheque to the Honourable Union Minister of state for Power, Shri Misra informed Honourable Minister that  against the MoU target of generation of 8520 million units of electricity from its power stations SJVN has generated 9346 million units during the financial year 2015-16.

He also said that, Hydro Power is the core strength of SJVN and the Company has the distinction of implementing India’s largest 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh. The Company’s other two projects namely 412 MW Rampur HE Project in Himachal Pradesh and 47.6 MW Khirvire Wind Power Project in Maharashtra are already in operation.   SJVN is implementing 12 other projects in Nepal, Bhutan, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Bihar, Gujarat and Maharashtra.  SJVN which has already diversified in the field of Wind Power, Thermal Power and Power Transmission is presently generating 2000 MW of electricity.
