To mark the culmination of Vigilance Awareness Week which started on 31st October, 2016 across the organization, SJVN organized a one day seminar on “Public Participation in Eradication of Corruption” at Shimla with participation of students from various local schools and colleges. Sh. R.N. Misra, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN was the chief guest of the function. While Sh. N.L. Sharma, Director (Personnel), Sh. R.K. Bansal, Director (Electrical) and Sh. Kanwar Singh, Director (Civil), senior officials from SJVN Limited and students and teachers from respective schools and colleges were also present.
Welcoming the participants, Sh. N.L. Sharma, Director (Personnel) emphasized the role of students and youth in eradication of corruption from public life and urged them to come forward for the noble cause. Students from various schools and colleges put forward their views on eradicating the social evil of corruption from our country. The views offered by them were widely applauded and appreciate by the audience. Jury to judge the participants consisted of Sh. I.D. Bhandari, Rtd. D.G.P., Himachal Pradesh and Sh. Rakesh Lohumi, Former Bureau Chief, The Tribune. Cash prize and certificates were given to the winning participants by CMD and functional Directors of SJVN.
Sh. R.N. Misra, Chairman & Managing Director in his address observed that the seeds of honesty and integrity are first sown in the family and thus exhorted the women to play greater role in planting these virtues in the youngsters from an early age. He further observed that India is a great Country with vast opportunities for development prosperity for every individual and a nation as a whole without resorting to unfair means, he urged the youngsters specially the students to lead the way by pursuing their goals without succumbing to the lure of unfair money and comforts of life.
Earlier during the week, SJVN organized essay writing competition in various schools on the topic related to Vigilance Awareness and participation of public in eradication of corruption from the public life with large number of students participating in it. The winners from these schools were also felicitated during the function.

- JCB Public School, New Shimla.
- Shimla Public School, Khalini, Shimla.
The prize winners of these competitions were also felicitated during the function.
