SJVN Limited has been honored with the CBIP award of Best Performing Hydro Power Utility. The prestigious award was presented by Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, Hon’ble Minister of State for Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Govt of India to Shri R.N. Misra, Chairman & Managing Director at a function organized by Central Board of Irrigation and Power (CBIP) at Scope Bhawan, New Delhi.
Shri Misra inform that SJVN has received this award for outstanding contribution to the Nation by setting New Bench Mark in Generation and Maintenance, excellence in engineering and use of latest State of Art Technologies and smart solutions for tackling major silt erosion problems. Mr Misra added that SJVN has been constantly achieving Excellent Rating for the last four years in the MoU signed with Govt of India. SJVN’s Flagship 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station has been constantly exceeding its design energy targets for the last 5 years, with its Plant Availability Factors constantly being above 100%.
He further told that against the MoU target of generation of 8700 million units of electricity for current financial year from its power stations, SJVN has generated more than 8300 million units during current financial year till date. He further told that financial position of SJVN also remained healthy with a gross turnover of ` 2498.49 crore and net profit of ` 1589.39 crore in FY 2015-16.
SJVN received a host of other accolades and recognition for excellent performance, which includes Gold Trophy and Citation of “SCOPE Excellence Awards” under the Institutional category which was presented by Hon’ble President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee.
