SJVN Foundation contributes 50 lakh to CM Relief Fund

A cheque amounting to 50,00,000 (Fifty Lakh) towards Chief Minister Relief Fund has been presented to the CM of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Virbhadra Singh by Shri R.N. Misra, Chairman & Managing Director and Shri N.L. Sharma, Director (Personnel) & Chairman SJVN Foundation at Shimla. The cheque was presented in the august presence of Hon’ble Forest Minister, Shri Thakur Singh Bharmauri.

On this occasion Shri D.P. Kaushal, Addl. General Manager (CSR), SJVN was also present along with other officials from SJVN and Government of Himachal Pradesh.

On this occasionShri Misra informed Hon’ble Chief Minister that against the MoU target of generation of 8700 million units of electricity for current financial year from its power stations, SJVN has generated more than 8300 million units during current financial year till date. He further told that financial position of SJVN also remained healthy with a gross turnover of  ` 2498.49 crore and net profit of ` 1589.39 crore in FY 2015-16. Owing to the excellent financial performance SJVN paid a dividend of  ` 116 crore for financial year 2015-16 to Government of Himachal Pradesh , which holds  25.51% shares of SJVN.

On this occasion, Shri N. L. Sharma, Chairman SJVN Foundation apprised the Hon’ble Chief Minister that SJVN undertakes it’s CSR and Sustainability projects in 6 verticals namely, Health & hygiene, Education & Skill Development, Sustainable Development, Infrastructural & community development, Assistance during natural disaster, Promotion of culture & Sports. In the last five years more than 2400 local youth have been trained in various vocational trades. In the area of health, SJVN is operating 14 mobile health vans which have benefitted more than 3 lakh patients besides 120 health camps have been organized benefitting around 30,000 patients. In addition, projects for disable section of society like providing aids and assistive devices to persons with disabilities through ALIMCO are being running.
