SJVN has been awarded with Aqua Foundation Excellence Award 2018 in the category of ‘Sustainable Development in Hydro Power Sector (Public Sector)’ during XII World Aqua Congress International Conference 2018. The award was given by Sh. U.P. Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, GOI in a function held at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Sh. Manoj Kumar, Sr. AGM, Sh. Harish Sharma, Sr. AGM & Sh. Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Sr. AGM received the award on behalf of SJVN.
On this occasion Sh. Nand Lal Sharma, chairman & Managing Director, said that Hydro Power is the core strength of SJVN and the Company has the distinction of implementing India’s largest 1500 MW NathpaJhakri Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh. Besides, executing projects in Himachal Pradesh, SJVN is executing hydro projects in Nepal, Bhutan and Uttarakhand. SJVN has also forayed into the field of Renewable Energy, Power Transmission and Thermal Power and is presently generating 2003.2 MW of electricity.
