Every year  SJVN Limited celebrates its Raising Day on May 24th. This year, on the occasion of 31st Raising Day, Satluj Aradhana was organized at Dam Site, Nathpa of 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station, SJVN’s first Hydro Project on Satluj Basin. Satluj Aradhana, an idea conceived by the Chairman & Managing Director of SJVN Shri Nand Lal Sharma aims to respect Satluj river which nourishes million of lives and is also a way to pay obeisance to all water resources and preserve them.

On the occasion of Satluj Aradhana, Pandits from city of Banaras performed Puja-Archana in the benign presence of Shri  Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director, Sh. Amarjit Singh Bindra, Director(Finance), Sh. Kanwar Singh Director (Civil) and Head of Project Sh. Sanjeev Sood of Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station and all the employees took part in it with joy.

On this historic occasion, addressing the gathering Sh. Nand Lal Sharma said that the Satluj river nourishes lives and is the backbone of our Corporation. All the rivers  like mothers nourishes lives from birth till end, hence rivers are considered sacred by us. In India, the purpose of the festivals celebrating worshipping of the rivers is to offer respect to the rivers, reservoirs and water resources and preserve them.

Respecting and following the age old traditions, each employee participated in Deepdaan wherein diyas were floated in the Satluj river. The area under district Kinnaur, illuminated with the spirit of faith and reverence.
