Saranga Pani Sarma ACS posted as Secretary – Transport Department
Shri Saranga Pani Sarma ACS (1995), presently District Commissioner, West Karbi Anglong, has been transferred and posted as Secretary – Transport Department, Government of Assam. He will also hold the additional charge of State Project Director, Assam Inland Water Transport Development Society.
The Transport Department of Assam plays a vital role in regulating road transport, improving mobility infrastructure, and ensuring safe and efficient transportation across the state. The department also oversees policy initiatives aimed at strengthening public transport systems and improving road safety.
In addition, the Assam Inland Water Transport Development Society works to enhance the state’s river transport network, which is particularly important in the Brahmaputra valley. Strengthening inland waterways remains a key priority for improving connectivity and boosting economic activity.
