Shri Sanjiv Kumar Singh has been appointed as the next Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), a leading public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Mines. His promotion to this esteemed position is a testament to his exceptional expertise and unwavering commitment to the mining sector.
A distinguished professional, Singh has been serving as Director (Mining) at HCL since March 26, 2022. His impressive academic credentials include a B. Tech in Mining Engineering and an M. Tech in Opencast Mining from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, along with an MBA in Finance from BIT Mesra. Backed by a career spanning more than three decades, Singh has made notable contributions to mine planning, design, statutory clearances, and project management, earning respect and recognition across the industry.
Before joining HCL, Singh held pivotal roles at NTPC Limited and CMPDIL, where his efforts significantly advanced mining operations and tender management. As CMD of HCL, his term is set to continue until June 30, 2026, and there is widespread anticipation that his leadership will usher in a period of growth and success for the organization.
