The Central Marketing Organisation (CMO) of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has been holding technical meets and seminars across the country as part of its efforts to help industrial designers and customers learn about the new products from the company’s new mills such as Parallel Flange Beams (PFBs) and their application in construction design.

At one such meet held at Ranchi on 22 June, 2017, SAIL executives briefed as many as 10 major Jharkhand-based industrial organisations, including The Engineers Guild, Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Ltd, Heavy Engineering Corporation, Venkatesh Udyog, Shreem Design Consultant, Greater Ranchi Development Agency Ltd, Tecpro Systems Ltd, Mahabir Marketing Solutions, Treadstone Pvt Ltd and Concept, on the technical viability of using SAIL PFBs for structural applications.

SAIL’s state-of-the-art new mills at IISCO and Durgapur Steel Plants have the capacity to produce 1.85 million tonnes of high-grade structurals annually. In this light, the gathering was informed about ready availability of the new sections from ISP’s new Universal Structural Mill and DSP’s new Medium Structural Mill.

SAIL’s latest range of structurals has been well accepted across the country due to their extensive scope for a variety of applications. Leading industrial enterprises such as BHEL, NTPC, Larsen & Toubro, etc., have been using SAIL PFBs due to the intrinsic advantages offered by the products over conventional structural sections.
