Robotic Lab inaugurated in Gorakhpur, First in UP under Future Skill PRIME Project

Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Shri S. Krishnan IAS, inaugurated the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Lab at National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Gorakhpur during the 26th All India Director’s Meet of NIELIT. The RPA lab, funded by MeitY under the Future Skill PRIME Project, aims to enhance skills in RPA, bridging the gap between industry and academia. Secretary Krishnan emphasized the lab’s transformative role in making India a global technology hub and its potential to improve citizen services by automating manual processes. He commended NIELIT’s efforts in skilling the youth for local and global industries and supporting local entrepreneurs.

The 26th All India Director’s Meet of NIELIT brought together leaders from 49 NIELIT Centers across India to address digital skilling needs. Economic Advisor, MeitY, Shri Kuntal Sensarma, recognized NIELIT’s contributions to IT and Electronics skill development. Prof. Poonam Tandon and Dr. M.M. Tripathi signed an MoU to prepare candidates for the IECT industry in the Gorakhpur region, promoting employability, especially among economically disadvantaged youth.

Dr. Madan Mohan Tripathi, Director-General, discussed NIELIT’s role in meeting IECT industry needs and outlined plans to achieve skilling targets and enhance center performance. Smt. Anuj Malik, CEO of Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA), expressed interest in establishing a NIELIT Skill Centre at GIDA, fostering technical excellence and entrepreneurship and addressing skilled manpower demands in local industries.
