During his visit to Bihar on 7th February 2017, Dr P V Ramesh, CMD REC communicated the sanction of Rs 2025 crore under BRGF to the DISCOM’s of Bihar. This will remove the financial hurdles and speeding up the implementation of projects under BRGF. The visit was for a detailed review of the progress of DDUGJY works in various Districts of Bihar. It was conducted in the presence of Shri Pratyay Amrit, CMD, BSPHCL, Shri R Lakhamanan , MD, SBPDCL ,Shri Sandeep kumar R Pudakalkatti, MD , NBPDCl ,Dr Dinesh Arora, ED,REC and Shri G.S Bhati ED ,REC. Officials and representatives of the agencies who attended the meetings committed to electrify 350 UE villages by March 2017. CMD, REC handed over the first grant component of Rs 651.29 Crores representing the 2nd installment of DDUGJY project worth Rs 5800 Crore. He also paid a courtesy visit to the Honorable Chief Minister, Honorable Energy Minister and Chief Secretary of Bihar.
