Shri Ravindra Kumar Mandar IAS (Uttar Pradesh 2013), presently District Magistrate & Collector, Prayagraj has been transferred as District Magistrate & Collector – Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Shri Ravindra Kumar Mandar, an accomplished officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) from the 2013 batch, has been appointed as the District Magistrate & Collector of Ghaziabad, one of the most strategically important districts in the National Capital Region (NCR). Prior to this, he served as the District Magistrate & Collector of Prayagraj, a high-profile post where he was appreciated for his administrative acumen and developmental focus.
Shri Mandar is an alumnus of the University of Rajasthan, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, graduating with First Division. His academic foundation in political science has enabled him to navigate the complexities of governance, public policy, and community engagement with clarity and conviction.
After completing his foundational training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie, he began his civil service journey with diverse field assignments. His early roles included postings as Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation (Government of India), and Joint Magistrate, Firozabad, where he gained crucial hands-on experience in land revenue management and district administration.
He then took over as Chief Development Officer, Agra, from 2017 to 2019, where he led multiple rural development programmes, including livelihood generation, sanitation, and women empowerment schemes. His leadership during this period contributed significantly to improving key development indicators in the region.
As Municipal Commissioner, Mathura, from 2019 to 2021, Shri Mandar spearheaded urban development initiatives, focusing on infrastructure modernization, cleanliness drives, and citizen-centric governance. His work contributed to improving civic amenities in the historic city.
From March 2021, he served as District Magistrate of Rampur, before being posted as District Magistrate of Prayagraj, where he oversaw major events, maintained law and order, and monitored the implementation of flagship government schemes with diligence and integrity.
Now posted in Ghaziabad, a rapidly growing urban hub with complex administrative demands, Shri Mandar brings with him a wealth of field experience, a track record of development-focused leadership, and a people-first approach. His tenure is expected to further enhance urban governance and citizen service delivery in the district.
