Ravi Prakash Meena IAS transferred as Secretary – KMDA
Shri Ravi Prakash Meena IAS (West Bengal 2017) presently serving as Special Secretary- Mass Education Extension and Library Services Department, has been transferred and appointed as Secretary- Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA), Government of West Bengal.
An officer of the 2017 batch of the Indian Administrative Service, Shri Meena has held several important assignments in the West Bengal Government across district administration and departmental governance. His administrative experience includes serving as District Magistrate and Collector, Jalpaiguri, where he oversaw district administration, implementation of development programmes, law and order, and public service delivery. Earlier, he served as Additional District Magistrate (General Administration) and Additional District Magistrate (Land Revenue) in South Dinajpur, besides a stint as Joint Secretary in the Agriculture Department.
In his new role as Secretary, Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority, Shri Meena will be responsible for overseeing the administrative functions of one of the country’s premier urban development agencies. KMDA plays a pivotal role in planning, infrastructure development, urban renewal, water supply, drainage, transportation, and implementation of major development projects across the Kolkata Metropolitan Area.
His appointment is expected to further strengthen the Authority’s efforts towards integrated urban planning, sustainable infrastructure development, and efficient execution of metropolitan projects in West Bengal..
