Shri Navin is a highly accomplished IRS officer of the 1993 batch, with an illustrious career spanning 23 years. Throughout his journey, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication and expertise. His tenure has seen him excel in diverse roles, including crucial positions within the assessment and investigation wings.
As Under Secretary in the Tax Policy and Legislation Division and later as Additional Director at the prestigious National Academy of Direct Taxes, Shri Rahul Navin exhibited remarkable leadership in training and development.
One of the defining periods of his career was from April 2011 to October 2015 when Shri Rahul Navin held the position of Director in the FT&TR Division of the Central Board of Direct Taxes. During this time, he played a pivotal role in negotiating bilateral and multilateral agreements on Exchange of Information. His adept management of requests made and received under these agreements by the Income-tax Department showcased his exceptional diplomatic skills.
Furthermore, he made significant contributions on the global stage by actively participating in meetings of organizations such as OECD, Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information, and G20 as an Indian delegate. His efforts have undeniably enhanced global transparency in tax matters.
