Punjab National Bank signs MoU with NSFDC

Punjab National Bank, Country’s one of the largest public sector lender and National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC) have tied up to provide financial assistance for economic empowerment of persons belonging to Scheduled Cast (SC) families living below Double Poverty Line (DPL).

A Memorandum of Agreement to this effect was signed by Dr. B. M. Padha, Corporate General Manager, Priority Sector & Financial Inclusion Division, PNB and Mr. Devanand, General Manager, NSFDC in the presence of Mr. A. P. Garg, Deputy General Manager, Priority Sector & Financial Inclusion Division, PNB, Mr. C. Ramesh Rao, Deputy General Manager, NSFDC, and other dignitaries.

On the occasion, Dr. Padha informed that PNB, through its huge network and customer base, would act as Channelizing Agent (CA) for the loan schemes of NSFDC. Mr. Devanand emphasized that NSFDC in collaboration with PNB, will provide concessional finance for setting up of self-employment projects and skill-training grants to unemployed SC persons living below Double the Poverty Line.

Such a collaborative, handholding and flexible approach for the welfare of SC population will invariably augment to the national priorities like Agriculture, Skill India, MUDRA and Stand-Up India.
