Smt Preeti IAS (Haryana 2015), presently Deputy Commissioner, Kaithal, is transferred and appointed as Deputy Commissioner – Yamunanagar, Haryana.
Smt. Preeti is a dynamic officer of the Indian Administrative Service, known for her strong academic foundation and diverse administrative experience across key sectors of governance. An engineer by education and an administrator by profession, she represents the modern face of Indian civil services, combining technical knowledge with grassroots administrative exposure.
Smt. Preeti holds a B.Tech in Biotechnology from Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology (DCRUST), Murthal, where she graduated with First Division. Her academic background in biotechnology has contributed to her analytical approach and understanding of science-linked policy areas, particularly in health and rural development.
After joining the IAS, she has served in a variety of challenging field and secretariat assignments, primarily within the Haryana cadre, gaining hands-on experience in district administration, land revenue management, public health, and rural development.
Currently, Smt. Preeti is serving as Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Panipat, a position she has held since 14 February 2019. In this role, she has been closely involved in district-level governance, implementation of rural development schemes, inter-departmental coordination, and monitoring of flagship government programs. Her tenure has focused on strengthening service delivery mechanisms, administrative efficiency, and developmental planning at the district level.
Prior to her posting in Panipat, she served as Additional Director in the Health & Family Welfare Department from 25 June 2018 to 13 February 2019. During this period, she contributed to health administration and policy execution, working on public health systems, institutional coordination, and implementation of healthcare programs—an experience that aligned well with her technical background.
Her early field postings include multiple assignments as SDO/SDM (Junior Scale) in Nuh, Mewat, and Palwal between October 2017 and June 2018. These roles placed her at the cutting edge of district and sub-divisional administration, dealing with land revenue management, law and order, public grievances, and development administration. Serving in socially and administratively sensitive regions like Mewat and Nuh provided her with valuable exposure to complex governance challenges and inclusive development efforts.
Smt. Preeti also gained exposure to central government functioning when she served as Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Law & Justice, Government of India, from 3 July 2017 to 29 September 2017. This assignment offered her insights into legislative processes, legal frameworks, and policy formulation at the national level—an experience that strengthened her understanding of the interface between law and administration.
Her first major field assignment was as Assistant Commissioner (UT), Karnal, from 11 June 2016 to 2 July 2017, where she worked on land revenue matters and district administration, laying the foundation for her subsequent administrative roles.
