Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) operating under the Ministry of Power, has achieved the top rank in the Services sector across various categories such as Overall Net profit, Gross Block, Value Addition, Net Worth, Contribution to Central Exchequer, and Dividend Declaration in the Public Enterprises Survey 2022-23. Additionally, it secured the 2nd position for Undertaking CSR Expenditure in the same survey.
The Public Enterprises Survey 2022-23 provides a concise overview of the financial performance of Central Public Sector Enterprises during the Fiscal Year 2022-23, assessing and quantifying the progress and contributions of CPSEs to the Indian Economy.
As of January 31, 2024, the total transmission assets of POWERGRID and its subsidiaries encompass 1,76,762 circuit km of transmission lines, 276 substations, and a transformation capacity of 5,20,546 MVA. Leveraging advanced maintenance techniques, automation, and digitization, POWERGRID has consistently maintained a transmission system availability of over 99.8%.
