POWERGRID continued to strengthen its transmission infrastructure during the year. In a significant corporate restructuring initiative, the POWERGRID Board accorded approval for the merger and amalgamation of 28 wholly owned subsidiaries into two existing subsidiary companies. This move follows the already completed amalgamation of 19 wholly owned subsidiaries into two other existing subsidiaries. The streamlined Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) structure is expected to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen management oversight, and improve corporate governance practices.

POWERGRID plays a crucial role in India’s power transmission sector and operates one of the largest transmission networks in the world. As a Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, the company is primarily engaged in the transmission of bulk power across different states of the country. POWERGRID also provides consultancy services in transmission, distribution, and telecom sectors both in India and abroad.

The company has consistently focused on expanding and modernising the national grid infrastructure to support India’s growing power demand and renewable energy integration goals. With a vast transmission network spread across the country, POWERGRID remains a key contributor to ensuring reliable and efficient power transmission.

The latest financial results underline the company’s stable financial position, operational excellence, and continued focus on infrastructure growth and organisational efficiency. The proposed dividend announcement is also expected to benefit shareholders while reinforcing investor confidence in the company’s long-term growth trajectory.
