POWERGRID Celebrates 12th International Day of Yoga
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna CPSE under Ministry of Power, Government of India, celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga across its offices and establishments nationwide. At Corporate Centre, Gurugram, Sh. Vamsi Rama Mohan Burra, Chairman & Managing Director, POWERGRID, Sh. G. Ravisankar, Director (Finance), and Dr. Yatindra Diwedi, Director (Personnel) led the yoga session and encouraged people to embrace yoga as an integral part of their daily lives. The event witnessed active participation from employees and their families, reflecting POWERGRID’s commitment towards fostering a culture of employee well-being, inclusivity and sustainable workplace practices. The celebration also underscored the organization’s continued efforts to promote a healthy, positive and productive work environment.
The programme was organized in accordance with the theme of International Day of Yoga 2026, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” emphasizing the role of yoga in promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and holistic health across all age groups. Participants performed various yoga asanas, pranayama, and meditation exercises under the guidance of Yoga experts.
As of 31st May 2026, POWERGRID has commissioned and is operating 291 Sub-Stations and more than 1,85,750 ckm transmission lines and 6,30,516 MVA of transformation capacity. With the adoption of the latest technological tools and techniques, enhanced use of automation and digital solutions, POWERGRID has been able to maintain an average transmission system availability of more than 99.84%.
