IndianBureaucracy National News – Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to undertake an extensive tour across the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu on January 19, 2024. Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to visit and announce developmental initiatives in these two critical and large southern states of India – Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The visit will also include the launch of projects worth Rs 2000 crores for Maharashtra making this tour a significant event, especially in view of the impending 2024 elections.

In Solapur, Maharashtra, around 10:45 AM, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for 8 Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) projects valued at approximately Rs. 2,000 crores. Additionally, he will dedicate over 90,000 houses completed under PMAY-Urban and unveil 15,000 houses in Solapur’s Raynagar Housing Society.

Later, at 2:45 PM in Bengaluru, Karnataka, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC) campus, representing Boeing’s significant investment of Rs. 1,600 crores—the largest outside the USA. The campus aims to foster collaboration with India’s dynamic startup, private, and government ecosystem, focusing on aerospace and defense industry advancements.

In Bengaluru, the Prime Minister will also launch the Boeing Sukanya Program, supporting the entry of more girls into India’s aviation sector. The initiative includes STEM Labs, scholarships, and training opportunities for women aspiring to join the aviation industry.

Concluding the day’s engagements, at approximately 6 PM in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Prime Minister Modi will be the Chief Guest at the opening ceremony of the 6th Khelo India Youth Games 2023. Spanning four cities in Tamil Nadu, the games will host over 5,600 athletes across 26 sporting disciplines.

The Games’ mascot, Veera Mangai, symbolizes the spirit of Indian women, drawing inspiration from Rani Velu Nachiyar’s resistance against British colonial rule. The event will feature traditional Tamil Nadu sport, Silambam, as a demo sport for the first time.

In a parallel commitment to the broadcasting sector, the Prime Minister will launch projects worth Rs. 250 crore. These initiatives include the revamped DD Podhigai channel as DD Tamil, 12 Akashvani FM projects in 8 states, and 4 DD transmitters in Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, 26 new FM transmitter projects in 12 states will see the laying of foundation stones.
