Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will release the 15th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme on 15th November 2023, coinciding with the celebration of ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas’ at Birsa College, Khunti, Jharkhand. The release, totaling over Rs. 18,000 crores, is expected to benefit more than 8 crore farmers across the nation.
Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas annually recognizes the tribal community’s contributions to cultural preservation. The PM-KISAN scheme, a flagship initiative of the Indian government, facilitates Direct Benefit Transfer. Launched on February 24, 2019, it provides Rs 6,000 per year to land-holding farmers in three equal instalments through Direct Benefit Transfer. To date, over Rs 2.61 lakh crores have been disbursed to 11 crore farmers. The 15th instalment requires mandatory eKYC and Aadhaar seeding. A new mobile app, featuring facial authentication, enables farmers to complete eKYC and assist 100 others, marking a pioneering step in Indian government benefit transfer schemes.
