Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate 511 Pramod Mahajan Grameen Kaushalya Vikas Kendras in Maharashtra on October 19, 2023, at 4:30 PM. The inauguration will be conducted through a video conferencing session. These Kendras, spread across 34 rural districts of Maharashtra, represent a significant step towards enhancing skill development and employment opportunities for the state’s rural youth.

The Grameen Kaushalya Vikas Kendras have been established with the aim of conducting skill development training programs across various sectors. These training initiatives are designed to provide the rural youth with the necessary skills and knowledge to secure gainful employment. Each Kendra is equipped to train approximately 100 youngsters in at least two vocational courses, making them more job-ready.

The skill development programs at these Kendras are being facilitated by empanelled industry partners and agencies working in collaboration with the National Skill Development Council. Through this initiative, the government seeks to empower rural youth by enhancing their employability and ensuring a steady flow of skilled workers into the job market.

The establishment of these Kendras is expected to catalyze significant progress in developing a more competent and skilled workforce in the region. This initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to fostering economic growth and self-reliance in rural areas.
