On the 27th of October, 2023, at 9:45 AM, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 7th Edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. During this event, the Prime Minister will confer 100 ‘5G Use Case Labs’ to educational institutions across the nation. These labs are a part of the ‘100 5G labs initiative.’
The ‘100 5G labs initiative’ is a strategic effort to harness the potential of 5G technology by promoting the development of 5G applications that cater to the specific needs of India and the global market. This unique initiative will stimulate innovation in various sectors such as education, agriculture, healthcare, power, transportation, and more, positioning India as a leader in the utilization of 5G technology. Furthermore, it plays a crucial role in establishing an academic and startup ecosystem prepared for 6G technology. Importantly, this initiative contributes to the development of indigenous telecom technology, which is vital for national security.
The India Mobile Congress (IMC) stands as Asia’s largest telecom, media, and technology forum, scheduled from the 27th to the 29th of October, 2023. This event serves as a platform to showcase India’s impressive advancements in telecommunications and technology, announce significant developments, and offer startups an opportunity to present their innovative products and solutions.
Under the theme ‘Global Digital Innovation,’ IMC 2023 aims to fortify India’s role as a creator, manufacturer, and exporter of cutting-edge technologies. Over the three-day congress, technologies such as 5G, 6G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and subjects related to the semiconductor industry, green technology, and cybersecurity will be prominently discussed. This year, IMC introduces a startup program called ‘Aspire,’ designed to connect startups, investors, and established businesses, with the goal of catalyzing new entrepreneurial ventures and collaborations.
IMC 2023 anticipates participation from over 100,000 attendees representing about 22 countries. This includes approximately 5,000 CEOs, 230 exhibitors, 400 startups, and various other stakeholders, collectively making it a prominent event in the field of telecommunications, media, and technology.
