Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the students not to compete with others but compete with yourself. Interacting with students on Pareeksha Par Charcha in New Delhi, Mr Modi said, a student needs self-confidence in addition to the right skills and the means. He suggested students do Yoga which is a wonderful way to improve concentration.

The Prime Minister said, concentration is not something that has to be specifically learnt and every person does concentrate on something or the other during the day, it may be while reading, hearing a song, talking to a friend. Mr Modi said students should have confidence in themselves while preparing for exams. Mr Modi said, self-confidence comes by challenging ourselves and working hard and the students should always think of bettering themselves.

He said several students, lack confidence despite working hard for the exams. The Prime Minister also advised students on beating exam stress and appearing for exams with a positive attitude. Calling students his young friends, Mr Modi asked them to always keep the student in alive in them. He asked the students to not bother about how many hours their friends study.

Mr Modi said parents should not pressurize their children to meet their aspirations. About two thousand school and college students are attending the programme at Talkatora Stadium. Our correspondent reports that the Prime Minister often addresses the concerns of students in his Mann ki Baat programme on All India Radio.
