Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates the project commencement of the Rajasthan Refinery at Pachpadra in Barmer district, a short while ago. This is the first oil refinery in the state. The 43,000 crore rupee project is a joint venture between HPCL and the Rajasthan government.

The refinery is expected to be operational in 4 years and the state will have an additional income of 34,000 crore rupees from it. The project is expected to generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Modi said, the project will bring happiness and prosperity in the lives of many.

The Prime Minister said, this is a time for ‘Sankalp Se Siddhi’ adding that targets should be identified and work should be done towards achieving them by 2022, when the country marks 75 years of freedom.

Mr Modi also prayed for the speedy recovery of Jaswant Singh saying that the veteran BJP leader’s contribution towards the nation is immense.Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje also addressed the function.
