Union Minister of Textiles, Smriti Zubin Irani has informed that M/s Karvy Data Management Services Limited, Hyderabad has been selected by the Office of the Development Commissioner for Handlooms for conducting fourth Nationwide Handloom Census and issue of Photo Identity Card(ID) to weavers and allied workers.
Work was awarded on 4th January 2017 with time line of one year. Enumeration work is complete and Completion Certificate from 31 States/UTs has been received with 100%validation of enumerated data by the respective States. Census work was delayed as it involved seeking cooperation of State Government in identifying the left out handloom pockets, if any, and 100% validation of enumerated data by respective States on Portal.
